Beacon Hill is more than church, as you know it. It is a Spirit-empowered community of faith, made up of many ethnicities and cultures, connected through the work of the Holy Spirit to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.
Beacon Hill Assembly of God may be viewed as unique . . . unique because it is a Spirit-filled church, consisting of people from many nations and cultures, worshiping together as One Body, and working together toward One Goal: “Reaching All People with the Light of God to Change, Transform and Empower Lives.”
Decades ago the church received the promise of Isaiah 2:2: "In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it." (NIV) Today we see the fulfillment of that promise in our faith communities.
We did not set out to become multi-cultural congregation. No, that was a sovereign work of the Holy Spirit! He uniquely brought together believers of various ethnicities and cultural backgrounds to further His mission and fulfill His Word. People of many nations are represented in our main English congregation (Filipino, Nigerian, Belizean, Hispanic, Cuban, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Tongan, etc.). As part of Beacon Hill Assembly of God, we have both Tongan and Swahili speaking faith communities who worship on the main campus. We also have a campus in the northwestern portion of Riverside that has both English and Spanish services.
We are excited about what God is doing! The uniqueness of our congregation didn’t arise out of a desire to be multicultural, but rather a deep passion to reach “the lost”. “The lost” are often found in ethnic pockets of people all around us whose culture of origin are much different than that of our own “American” culture. This has led to a new evangelistic vision – to reach the unreached and the unevangelized next door. Beacon Hill Assembly of God is “More Than Church”!
